UCDA visits Sera Wild Coffee Farm

As part of their monitoring exercise in the Elgon region, on Friday, 20th September 2024, we were humbled to host Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA) Board Chair Dr Charles Mugoya alongside his entire team as led by our team leader Mr Bruno Kamusiime, we took them through the a brief about us and the activities in around the farm.

In Mr Bruno’s remarks on behalf of our Chief Farmer, he thanked UCDA for supporting the Sera Wild Farm with a Coffee Wet Mill that has not only faciliated our coffee pulping sessions but also benefited our community in Kapkwata, Chema Subcounty in Kapchorwa district where coffee farmers come in to pulp their coffee too.

We crowned off the evening, with a word our team leader who shared a few words reminding the UCDA team of one of our core objectives as single origin organic coffee brand is to be model farm to both the Sebei and Elgon Regions by providing sustainable solutions to the coffee farmers of the latter.

He highlighted some of the challenges we face as coffee farmers more so, the price fluctuations and climate change problem that has really affected us and the neighbouring coffee farms.

In his remarks, the Board of Directors UCDA, Chairperson Dr Charles Mugoya, in his words, “I never expected anything like this, we are impressed and keep on doing the great work and the fact you are for community, it helps alot of farmers within by providing sustainable agricultural practises.”
